Born the son of a radio engineer/car fanatic in the UK I guess it was only a matter of time before the ‘bug’ for cars, and in particularly classic cars, would bite.
After having pursued a career as a professional golfer as well as other less glamorous jobs, one of which led me to live in Belgium, I slipped into the world of Classic Cars through ownership and the restoration of a 1967 Austin Healey BJ8.
What started as a ‘one off’ project for my own pleasure led to being convinced by a friend to restore a Healey for him. Roll on 20 years, 18 Healeys,1 mini ‘beach’ conversion and 16 Porsche 356, 911 and 912 restorations later I found myself owner of a thriving specialist garage.
So why change ? Vintage Car Classics, a website you may ask. The answer is very simple, I spent almost as much time on Google looking for cars, rare OEM parts, suppliers, advice and guidance as I actually did working on the cars or enjoying them. If, as a professional, I spend this much time looking on the internet feeling frustrated then how about the rest of the world.
As a result of discussions with clients and other professionals I decided to create a website that would be a ‘one stop database’ for Classic Cars.
A site where;
A prospective owner of a classic with little or no knowledge can seek guidance on all aspects of owning a classic car.
Provide a platform to find the perfect Classic Car for them.
Videos on restoration and tuning for the amateur mechanic.
Access to car club forums where they could seek advice or meet like- minded people.
A place to find spare parts for the pros and amateurs.
This is the beginning of a journey that will take time to become established. As a prospective buyer of a classic, owner, amateur mechanic or professional welcome – Join us on the journey…
